Stoic's Newman

Over the last twenty years, I have been selecting and training police working dogs and have been to several kennels throughout the country. When I decided to purchase a family dog I looked at several different breeders. When I contacted Stoic and went to see the litter, Trase amazed me with his knowledge and history of the breed. This included the research he had done on the pedigree and health of the parents and the healthcare of the puppies.

Perhaps the most impressive part of my purchase experience is Stoic Kennels is not a puppy mill. They truly care about the puppies and they make every effort to make sure the puppies are going to the right home. They take pride in the healthcare they provide and don't take the cheap route that some breeders take. They are great about keeping in contact with the families of these puppies and answer any questions.

We purchased Newman from Stoic Kennels and he is a healthy 80-pound boy (not even 8 months old)! He is very social and is great with other animals, including our grumpy cat. I would 100% recommend purchasing from Stoic!

With our pit bull turning 12, our family was considering to purchase a puppy, thinking we could have the older dog train the younger dog (how we do things in our household).

My husband had been researching different breeds of dogs. We had previously owned a Great Dane for 10 years and really enjoyed the breed. While my husband was researching, he started to send me pictures and videos of Cane Corsos and fell in love with the demeanor and things we were reading about the “guardian breed”.

We started to search out breeders and found Stoic Kennels. Upon contacting Stoic, we found they had a puppy available for a companion. Trase was very responsive to our questions and prompt to meeting us with the available puppy. The puppy was named Tattoo and she already knew basic commands and was trained to not use the bathroom in the house. During our visit, Tattoo was obedient and very gentle with our 3 year old daughter who was super excited running around the yard with Tattoo. The transaction went very well and we felt very comfortable bringing Tattoo home.

We ended up naming Tattoo “Queen Athena”.  Athena has such a great demeanor; she has the best personality and is very much a guardian of my three year old daughter.

We feel very fortunate to be able to have found Stoic Kennels and the genuine, versatility of the blood line in their Cane Corso’s.

Adopting a Cane Corso is no small decision, and Stoic Kennels made it possible. My boyfriend and I adopted Cora at 14 weeks of age to serve as a therapy dog for PTSD, and she has proven herself to be intelligent, loyal, and healthy.

Now at seven months old, she is learning what it means to be a part of our family. Cora was one of the last puppies left, but at that point Trase had her nearly potty-trained, had given her shots, and we could tell that she was being raised in a healthy, stimulating environment, which was important to us.

Trase took the time to get to know us as well, and assessed whether our situation was right for a Cane Corso. They offered good advice to get us started, helped us understand the AKC pedigree, explained the breed to us, and told us that if Cora ended up not being a good fit, that we could bring her back. These are all traits that one should look for in a responsible breeder, especially with these powerful working dogs. Picking the right breeder is the very first step in having a healthy relationship with a new dog, and Stoic Kennels was definitely the right pick for us.
